I was on two feet rather than two wheels yesterday, doing a run of about 7 miles. I was just getting close to home when I rider went past me.
He was riding a nice looking fixie with upturned bars and was going quite well. I noticed his cycling top had the motif pictured – PSV Bruhl – which seems to be related to some German sports / triathlon setup (official site). Is PSV Bruhl a big cycling club or some such? Doesn’t sound German does it …more like Dutch?
Pictured above is the chrome/galvinised finish version (also available in black) of the Charge Plug Racer 2010. In keeping with the racer name this single speed bike has drop bars just like a track or multi-geared road bike would have.
Fitted with a flip-flop hub (explained) you’ve got the option of both single free or fixed wheel gearing on a 16T sprocket and 42T chainring. That’s a very common gear combination giving a gear ratio of approximately 70 inches. The hubs are sealed too so that should keep out any rainwater and road grime. Not sure about the red chain myself – what do you think?

Isn’t this bicycle a thing of pure Italian beauty? Pictured is the 2010 Bianchi Pista single speed road bike – a fixed gear machine of simplicity and practicality. The frame is finished in a retro coffee and chrome scheme with both the rear stays and half-length front forks being chromed. Note also the selection of toe clips and straps on the pedals; you could of course change those if you wanted to. As it’s a fixed wheel bike, Bianchi have included a single front brake.
