So the coming-soon London cycle hire scheme is being sponsored by Barclays.
According to this post on London Cyclist the bank paid £25M for the privilege of having their name associated with the bike hire scheme. This is what the bikes are going to look like:
Whether potential riders will be slightly put off with riding a bike sponsored by a high street bank, who aren’t exactly in everyone’s good books right now, remains to be seen. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of the bikes find themselves in places they shouldn’t be.
